Classic Heritage Tour Travel Itinerary
The following tour will be offered for the 2010 season. All Heritage tours have added one day to the schedule for a total of 15 days without an increase in price.
           
Day 0 - U.S.A.    
  • Depart from U.S.A. to Beijing, China (Your own arrangement)
Day 1 - Beijing    
  • Arrive in Beijing
  • Meet with the RTTS representative at the airport and take a private van to the Oriental Culture Hotel, a four-star hotel
Day 2 - Beijing (B/L)
  • Western & Chinese Buffet breakfast at the hotel
  • Welcome Orientation
  • Visit Tiananmen Square & the Forbidden City
  • Open afternoon and evening for swimming in hotel pool
Day 3 - Beijing (B/L)      
  • Western & Chinese Buffet breakfast at the hotel
  • Visit the Summer Palace
  • Lunch together
  • Discussion with Citizen Panel
  • Children swim in pool with supervision
Day 4 - Beijing (B/L)
  • Western & Chinese Buffet breakfast at the hotel
  • Full day excursion to the Great Wall
  • Lunch at a typical Chinese restaurant
  • Visit the Olympic Park and associated sites
  • Family free time to explore and have dinner on your own
Day 5 - Beijing / Xi'an (B/L/D)
  • Western & Chinese Buffet breakfast at the hotel
  • Visit Hutong Neighborhood: Drum Tower and Shichahai Lake by rickshaw
  • Make dumplings with a local family and enjoy a delicious homemade meal
  • Check out of the hotel
  • Shopping time for adults while kids have planned activities
  • Dinner together
  • Take an overnight soft sleeper train to Xi’an
Day 6 - Xi'an (B/L/D)
  • Arrive in Xi’an and check into the Howard Johnson Hotel, a 5-star hotel
  • Western & Chinese Buffet breakfast at the hotel
  • City Wall tour, biking, and kite flying on the Wall (weather permitting)
  • Visit the Shaanxi Art Museum and painting gallery
  • Stroll around and visit the Great Wild Goose Pagoda
  • Multi-course Dumpling Dinner Banquet
Day 7 - Xi'an (B/L)
  • Western & Chinese Buffet breakfast at the hotel
  • Full day excursion to see the Terra Cotta Warriors
  • Buffet style Chinese noodle lunch
  • Tour a jade factory
  • Family free time to explore and have dinner on your own
Day 8 - Xi’an (B/L)
  • Western & Chinese Buffet breakfast at the hotel
  • Families who are going to Chendgdu or Guilin will depart in the morning
  • Visit a typical elementary school on a farm and interact with the students
  • Visit the cattle farm and the dairy factory
  • Visit the traditional cave residence of the Shanxi province
  • Have lunch at a farmer's house
  • Return to the hotel in the early afternoon
  • Family free time to explore and have dinner on your own
 
Day 9 - Xi'an / Adoption Province (B/D)
  • Western & Chinese Buffet breakfast at the hotel
  • Take a flight to the capital city of the adoption province and have lunch on the airplane
  • Arrive in the capital city and check into the hotel
  • Dinner together with your local guide
Day 10 - Capital City / Orphanage City (B/L)
  • Breakfast at the hotel and then take a van to visit your orphanage city
  • Upon arriving, check into the local hotel
  • Lunch with orphanage officials
  • Visit the orphanage and interact with the children and babies there
  • Chat with the orphanage director and caregivers
  • Dinner on your own
 
Day 11 - Orphanage City / Capital City (B/L)
  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Visit the location where your child was found in the morning
  • Visit local scenic or historic places of interest
  • Lunch together with your local guide
  • Check out of the local hotel and take a private van back to the capital city
  • Check into the hotel in the capital city
  • Family free time to explore and have dinner on your own
Option #1 for days 12 - 15
Day 12 - Adoption Province / Shanghai (B/D)      
  • Breakfast at the hotel and then checkout
  • Take a flight to Shanghai and have lunch on the plane
  • Arrive in Shanghai and check into the Huating Hotel, a 5-star hotel
  • Family free time in the afternoon for exploration
  • Dinner together
  • Experience the beautiful night view of Shanghai on a cruise
Day 13 - Shanghai (B/L/D)
  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Sightseeing - Yu Garden, the Old City, and the God's Temple area
  • Shanghai-style lunch together
  • More shopping time for adults
  • Children go to the hotel for a candlelit party
  • Dinner together
  • Enjoy a traditional Shanghai acrobatic show
Day 14 - Shanghai (B/L/D)  
  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Visit the Shanghai World Expo and tour the area at your own pace
  • Lunch together
  • Tour the Shanghai Art Museum
  • Farewell dinner
Day 15 - Shanghai / U.S.A (B)
  • Eat an early breakfast and check out of hotel and depart for the Shanghai Pudong Airport
  • Depart Shanghai for U.S.A
Option #2 for days 12 - 15
Day 12 - Adoption Province / Guangzhou (B/D)
  • Breakfast at the hotel and then checkout
  • Take a flight to Guangzhou and have lunch on the plane
  • Arrive in Guangzhou and check into the White Swan Hotel, a 5-star hotel
  • Family free time in the afternoon for exploration
  • Nightview of Guangzhou on the Pearl River dinner cruise
Day 13, 14, 15 - Guangzhou
  • Sightseeing and meals comparable to Shanghai option for these days
  • Flight to U.S.A. on day 15
