Attend an online Red Thread Tours & Services Informational Meeting. This meeting is held to introduce the services provided by Red Thread Tours & Services to prospective families. The information shared at this meeting will cover general travel schedules, travel routes, group activities on the tour, and orphanage visit activities. The goal of this meeting is to have an open dialogue to hear what families’ expectations are and to share how Red Thread Tours & Services can fulfill these expectations. These meetings are flexible to fit your busy schedule.
Submit an Application Form and fee in order to hold a spot for your family in your desired tour. Our Communications Specialistwill stay in touch with you to keep you informed of document due dates and important milestones prior to travel. She will work closely with you to plan the details of your orphanage visit as well as any other side trips your family decides to take. If you are concerned about issues involving a visit to your child’s orphanage and found place, we offer a limited phone consultation with Dr. Mary Kenning, PhD in Pediatric Psychology.
Attend the our Online Travel Orientation meeting about a month before traveling to China. Details about traveling to China such as weather, packing, gift-giving, tipping, Chinese culture, and more will be discussed in great depth. Equally important is the orphanage visit preparation. This is a two part meeting and is extremely valuable for families before the tour begins.
Step Five: It is time for your family's memorable heritage tour of China. Our guides and child activities coordinators will be available at all times to make your tour as pleasant and stress-free as possible.

Sightseeing in China is always exciting, but how can we make the trip more of a family and adoption related event in addition to the touring highlights?
With more than ten years of experience working with orphanages and officials in China, and as a Chinese native, Danling Cai has a unique understanding of Chinese adoption policies. Her experience with adoptive families assists her in explaining their desires and needs to decision makers in China. As a result of this, Danling has successfully assisted many families in learning more about their child's first months of life in the orphanage.
Are meals and lodging included in the cost of the tour?
All of the lodging and most of the meals for the 15 day trip are included in the cost of the tour. Red Thread Tours & Services will cover this information in more detail at the travel orientation.
What if my family does not live in Minnesota?
This is not a problem as all of our meetings are now held online. You may sit in the comfort of your own home, viewing our presentations on your computer and interacting with our staff real time. It makes the best use of your time and keeps the hassle of driving out of these important interactions.
Will RTTS help me with the international flight ticket purchasing and the Visa application process?
We understand that families prefer to use different airlines and some families would like to use their mileage for the trip. We respect your choices, and would be able to provide guidance and assistance in the areas of airfare and visa application, but the overall responsibility of completing these two items lies with the individual family.
